being special places where King Arthur held
court.
Just like other ancient monarchs and chiefs, King Arthur may have
moved his court regularly across his kingdom.

Arthur's Courts may have been in
Caerleon on-Usk in Newport
in South Wales is suggested by
Geoffrey of Monmouth.
London is another site of
one of his Courts, as stated by
Geoffrey of Monmouth
Carlisle, Cumberland
on the western edge of Hadrian's Wall is another
location.
Cardigan in Wales is
mentioned by
Chrétien de Troyes.

Winchester is specifically
described as being Camelot in
Thomas Malory.
St David's in Wales is one
of Arthur's three Courts mentioned in the
Welsh Triads.
Stirling in
Scotland is
mentioned in Beroul's 12th century "Romance of
Tristan".
The Welsh Triads
also mention the as yet unidentified place called
Kelliwic
or Celliwig
in Cornwall; which may
be Callington.
They also state that Arthur had a northern court in Pen
Rhionydd, which is possibly near Stranraer in
Rheged.
